Welcome to the Maryland Council for Dispute Resolution
About MCDR: MCDR is the oldest membership based organization in Maryland dedicated to promoting the use of mediation and supporting the mediation profession. It has a proud history of successfully advocating for allowing multiple professions to practice mediation when there were attempts to restrict it fifteen years ago. It is the first organization to establish performance based criteria for mediators which has been used as a national model in the ongoing dialogue on quality assurance and mediator credentials. We welcome mediators of all backgrounds and experience levels. We look forward to seeing you at our quarterly educational meetings which are free and open to anyone. We have many ac tive committees
which are always eager for fresh and new ideas and perspectives. Our membership
is diverse and draws from many communities, interest areas, professional
backgrounds and mediator practices. We are rich in experience and insight. If
you have a question about mediator practice you’ll likely find many helpful
answers from any member you call. Participating in MCDR presents an
opportunity to develop close professional colleagues and friends.
We look forward to your participation. Sincerely, Ellen F. Kandell, Esq. President 2011
