Marital/Couples Therapy
Before making the decision to
separate, marital/couples therapy is an
excellent tool for helping couples work on
improving the marital relationship. In
marital therapy, the therapist assists the
individuals in hearing and understanding
each other better, and looking for small
steps each can take that will mend the hurts
from the past. Love isn't enough!
Marriage takes lots of positive energy, good
communication, and learning to deal with
differences.
Roslyn
Zinner, LCSW-C has specialized in working
with couples for much of her 33 years of
clinical practice. She has provided
couples therapy for the past 17 years, and
prior to that served as the first
Coordinator of the Interfaith Marriage
Program at Jewish Family Services in
Baltimore, Maryland. Ms. Zinner draws
heavily from the work of John Gottman, Ph.d.,
who has done more qualitative research on
what makes a marriage work than any other
person in the US.
Divorce is a big step with a
profound impact on every arena of one's
life, and shouldn't be taken until all other
avenues for repair have been explored and
exhausted. Call for an appointment to
explore how your relationship can be
restored to the way it was in happier times. |
